Geometry - We continued our discussion of special quadrilaterals, focusing on rectangles, rhombi, and squares (6.4).  HW for Monday - If you have not already done so, complete the HW assignment from thu, Feb. 28.

Modern Math - We completed our Ch. 14 Test in class today.  No HW for Monday.

Thursday, February 28

Geometry - We continued our discussion of the properties of a parallelogram (6.2, 6.3).  We began our discussion of the properties of rectangles, rhombi, and squares (6.4).  HW for Friday - Complete pg. 405  #35-37, #46-46 and pgs. 412 - 413  #1-7, #18-32.

Modern Math - We completed a practice test in class in preparation for Friday's Ch. 14 Test.  No HW for Friday, other than to prepare for the test.

Wednesday, February 27

Geometry - We continued our discussion of the properties of a parallelogram (6.2-6.3), focusing on ways to prove that a quadrilateral is a parallelogram (6.3).  HW for Thursday - Complete pg. 396 #27-29, #32-43 and pg. 402 - 403  #1-5, #11-13, #17-21.

Modern Math - Complete the online quizzes for Ch. 14.

Tuesday, February 26

Geometry - We completed a review worksheet that highlighted the formulas used to calculate the angles of a polygon.  We then began our discussion of parallelograms, focusing on their properties (6.2).  We organized our notes using this worksheet.  HW for Wednesday - Complete pg. 395  #1-12, #14-24.

Modern Math - We continued our discussion of descriptive statistics, focusing on variance and standard deviation (14.4).  HW for Wednesday - Complete pgs. 55, #58, #59-61.

Monday, February 25

Geometry - We began our discussion of polygons, focusing on the definition and the measure of the interior angles (6.1).  No HW for Tuesday.

Modern Math - We continued our discussion of Ch. 14, focusing on the Five-Number Summary and the Box and Whisker Plot (14.3).  No HW for Tuesday.

Friday, February 22

Geometry - We completed the Ch. 7/8 Test in class today.  HW for Monday...
1)  Complete the Sec. 6.1 worksheets (Define Polygon and Angles of a Polygon) that were distributed  in class.
2)  Complete this sketchpad activity that introduces Sec. 6.2.

Modern Math - We continued our discussion descriptive statistics, once again focusing on numerical ways to describe a data set (14.3, 14.4).  No HW for Monday.

Thursday, February 21

Geometry - We worked on our Ch. 7/8 Test in class today.  Since many people did not complete the test in the allotted time, we will finish the test in class tomorrow.  HW for Friday - None, other than to continue preparing for the test.

Modern Math - We continued our discussion descriptive statistics, focusing on numerical ways to describe a data set (14.3, 14.4).  HW for Friday - Complete the following problems in the Ch. 14 HW section ... #23, #25 (d only), #27, #29, #33, #37, #39.

Wednesday, February 20

Geometry - We spent the day reviewing for tomorrow's test covering Chs. 7 and 8.  HW for Thursday - Complete the practice test that was distributed in class today (answers were provided).  Note:  You will be able to use the packet when completing your test in class on Thursday.

Modern Math - We continued our discussion of descriptive statistics, focusing on graphical ways to display data sets (114.1, 14.2).  HW for Thursday -

Geometry - We continued our discussion of basic trig ratios, focusing on applications involving inverse functions (8.3) and angles of elevation and depression (8.4).  HW for Wednesday -
8:00 - Complete the worksheet that was distributed in class and pg. 537 #4-9 , # 13-15 and pg. 547 #7-14.
1:00/2:00 - Complete both worksheets that were distributed in class today.

Modern Math - We continued our investigation of statistics (Ch. 13).  Assignment(s) - Complete pgs. 519-520  #53-60 in class and pgs. 520-521 #61-65 as HW for Friday.

Wednesday, February 13

Geometry - We continued our discussion of the applications of similarity, reviewing similarity in a right triangle (8.1) and ratios in similar figures (7.5).  HW for Thursday - Complete the back page of the 8.1 worksheet that was distributed in class today and complete pg. 507 #28, 29, 32, 33 and pg. 521 #3-13.

Note:  The quiz covering Sec. 5.4 and 7.4-7.6 has been postponed to tomorrow - Thu, Feb. 14.

Modern Math - We continued our work with  basic statistical sampling (Ch. 13).  We completed #32-40 (even on pg 518 in class for a HW grade.  HW for Thursday - Complete pgs. 518 - 519  #41-51 (odd).

Geometry - We continued our discussion of the applications of similar triangles, focusing on geometric means in a right triangles (8.1).  HW for Wednesday - Complete the HW packet that was distributed in class today.

Modern Math - We continued our discussion of basic statistics (Ch. 13).  We completed and submitted the following problems in class - pg. 517  #27-30.  HW for Wednesday - Complete pgs. 517 - 518  #31-39 (odd).

Geometry - We discussed Sec. 7.6, focusing on dilations in the coordinate plane.  HW for Monday - Read Sec. 7.6 and complete pgs. 498 - 500  #1-2, #4-5, #8-9, #15-19 (odd), and #21-24.

Geometry - We continued our discussion of the applications of similarity, focusing on the relationships between the perimeters and areas of similar figures (7.5).  HW for Monday - Complete pgs. 491 - 493  #1-12, #18-26, #37-42.

Geometry - We completed a quiz covering Sec. 7.1 - 7.3 in class today.  HW for Thursday - Complete the packets covering Sec. 5.4 and 7.4 that were distributed in class today.

Modern Math - We concluded our reading and background preparation for Ch. 13.  No HW for Thursday.

Tuesday, February 5

Geometry - We continued our discussion of similar triangles, focusing on the midsegment of a triangle (5.4).  HW for Wednesday - Complete pg. 479  #1-15.

Note:  We will have a quiz TOMORROW covering Sec. 7.1-7.3.

Modern Math - We began our discussion of Unit 4, focusing on an introduction to statistics (Ch. 13).  HW for Wednesday - Read Ch. 13, taking notes and creating a list of terms that you do not fully understand.
