Geometry - We concluded our discussion of Sec. 1.2 in class today.

HW for Wednesday - Complete pgs. 17 - 19  #5-7, #16-18, #20-26, #28-30, #34#36, #40-41.  Additionally, a worksheet discussing the cartesian coordinate plane (Sec. 1.6) was distributed in class today.  Complete as much of this sheet as possible as part of your HW this evening.

Assessment Alert - We will take a quiz (semi-summative assessment WITHOUT notes) covering Sec. 1.1, 1.2, and 1.6 in class on Friday, September 2.


College Algebra - We completed our discussion of Sec. 1.2 in class today.

HW for Wednesday - Read Sec. 1.3 and complete the "suggested" HW problems that correspond to each example (underlined problem numbers).

Monday, August 29

Geometry - We Spent the hour discussing the first part of Sec. 1.2, focusing on calculating the length of a segment on the number line and determining congruence of segments.

HW for Tuesday - Complete pgs. 17 - 19  #2-4, #8-9, #11-12, #37-39


College Algebra - We completed our discussion of Sec. 1.2, focusing on the Distance and Midpoint Formulas and the Equation of a Circle.

HW for Tuesday - REVIEW #25 - 90 on pgs. 23 - 24 in preparation for a quick quiz covering this material.

Friday, August 26

Geometry - We concluded our discussion of Sec. 1.1, focusing on various postulates that will guide our discussions throughout the year.

HW for Monday - Complete the intersection/union worksheet that was distributed in class today.  Additionally, complete pgs. 9 - 10  #16 - 27, #31 - 34, and #36 - 38.


College Algebra - We began our discussion of Sec. 1.2, covering the first 5 examples in the section.

HW for Monday - Prepare of a quick quiz covering the second part (applications) of Sec. 1.1 and the first 5 example in Sec. 1.2.

Thursday, August 25

Geometry - We continued our discussion of Sec. 1.1, focusing on basic definitions and sets.

HW for Friday - Complete pg. 9  #1-15


College Algebra - We took a sort assessment covering number systems and operations in Sec. 1.1.

HW for Friday - Complete pgs 9 - 10  #77 - 86.  Additionally, read Sec. 1.2 and review pgs. 22 - 23  #1 - 40 in preparation for a short assessment over these topics.

Wednesday, August 24

Geometry - We began our discussion of Sec. 1.1, focusing on the undefined terms of geometry.

No HW for Thursday.


College Algebra - We discussed Sec. 1.1, focusing on the real number system and the order of operations.

HW for Thursday - Review HW problems #1 - 66.  Be prepared for a short quiz reviewing these concepts at the start of class tomorrow. 

Tuesday, August 23

Geometry - We spent the hour investigating ... first in our textbook and then in Geometers' Sketchpad.

HW for Wednesday - If you did not do so in class, please complete the Exploring GSP worksheet.  If you have time, please read Sec. 1.1 in your textbook and come to class tomorrow prepared to discuss.

College Algebra - We completed the U-High Math Dept Algebra Assessment in class today.

No HW for Wednesday.
