Registration Update!!!!!

It was brought to my attention for the first time THIS MORNING that Career Cruising has a pre-requisite system in place that prevents any student currently enrolled in REGULAR Geometry from enrolling in Algebra II / Trig next year.

That being said, all students currently enrolled in my Geometry classes need to enroll for Algebra I for next year in order to get your registration form to print.  You can then bring the form to me for a signature, at which time I will change the class to Algebra II / Trig.  You will then take the form to your counselor, who will in turn change your course request in Career Cruising.

So ... if you want to take Algebra II / Trig next year, you must come and speak with me personally so I can approve the change on your registration form.

Registration Update:  My recommendations for your 2015-16 math course have been entered into TeacherEase under the assignment "Math Recs."  Your suggested class will appear as a note in the assignment.  If you do not agree with the recommendation, please e-mail me (masondg@ilstu.edu) with your reasoning for wanting to take a different course.

Info I used to make the recommendations:
- 1st semester grade in Geometry
- Your score on the ALEKS assessment you completed last May
- Success in your Jr High math course

 Geometry - We continued our introduction to polygons, focusing on calculations of their interior and exterior angles (Sec. 6.1).

Notes:  Groundhogs aren't the only mammals seeing shadows in February!  It's shadow time here at U-High, as well.  If you have a shadow w/ you at 7:00 or 8:00, please sit at one of the empty tables with your shadow.  At 12:00 and 1:00, please trade seats with someone sitting at a table by themselves (w/ Harrison at 12:00 and either Josh or Caleb @ 1:00).  Hopefully, we won't have more than one shadow at 12:00.  If we do, it could be a very long winter   ; )

Monday, February 9

Geometry - We continued our discussion of the special segments of a triangle, focusing on the median and altitude (Sec. 5.3).  Students in Mr. Sondgeroth's afternoon classes should open this GSP file - medians / altitudes.
