Geometry - We began our discussion of special right triangles (Sec. 5.8), focusing on 45-45-90 or isosceles, right triangles.

HW for Monday - Complete the back side of the 11/20/14 Sec. 5.8 - Special Right Triangles worksheet (exploring 30-60-90 triangles) and the 45-45-90 side of the 11/21/14 Sec. 5.8 - Special Right Triangles review worksheet.

Note:  With 1 exception, everyone should have completed the Ch. 7 Test before leaving school today.  Please contact me immediately via e-mail if you did not.

Geometry - We completed our Ch. 7 Test today.  Additionally, we began our discussion of right triangles by reviewing the simplification of radicals.

HW for Friday - Complete the back side of the Simplifying Radicals Worksheet and the front side of the Sec. 5.8 - Special Right Triangles Worksheet.

Wednesday, November 19

Geometry - We began our Ch. 7 Test in class today.  Many students did not complete the test during this hour.  Students will be allotted approximately 30 minutes in class on Thursday to complete this summative assessment.

HW for Thursday - None ... continue studying for the Ch. 7 Test.

Geometry - We concluded our in-class review ahead of tomorrow's Ch. 7 Test.

Notes:  
- I WILL be available for a review session after school TODAY from 3:00 - 4:00 pm in Rm. 216.
- If you are interested in retaking the Sec. 7.4 - 7.6 Quiz, please e-mail me at masondg@ilstu.edu to make this request.  As we did in Ch. 3, you will take the re-quiz during class tomorrow and then you will complete your Ch. 7 Test during a free hour of after school on Friday, November 21.

Geometry - We began our review of Ch. 7 in preparation for Wednesday's summative assessment.  Today, we focused on Sec. 4.1 - 4.2 - angles of a triangle.

HW for Tuesday - A large review packet was distributed in class today.  It is not DUE tomorrow ... students have been instructed to look through the entire packet and to identify sections about which they still have some confusion.

Notes:  
* We will take a test on Wednesday, November 19, covering Sec. 4.1 - 4.2 and Sec. 7.1 - 7.3.
* Students wishing to retake the Sec. 7.1 - 7.3 quiz should do so TODAY - Monday, November 17 - from 2:00 - 4:00 in Rm. 216.

Geometry - We completed the Sec. 7.4 - 7.6 Quiz in class today.

HW for Monday - Complete the Ch. 7 Practice Test that was distributed in class today.  At least part of the practice assessment will be collected and graded on Monday.

Notes:  Retakes for the Sec. 7.1 - 7.3 Quiz will be completed AFTER SCHOOL on Monday, November 17 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm in Rm. 216.  Please speak to Mr. Sondgeroth in class on Monday if you are planning to retake this semi-summative assessment.

8:00 - taught by Ms. Ricciotti - complete the worksheet packet that we discussed in class and any of the HW assignment from Wednesday that you did not complete
12:00 - 1:00 - Complete the Sec. 7.6 - Dilations worksheet that you received in class yesterday.  In addition, complete pgs. 506 - 507  #21 - 30 in the textbook to aid your review for tomorrow's quiz.

Geometry - We completed our Sec. 7.1 - 7.3 mid-chapter quiz in class today.

HW for Monday:  Complete the Sec. 4.1 - 4.2 Take Home Quiz.  Since this is a TAKE HOME assessment, you are allowed to use your notes, your textbook, and your school-issued computer.  You may NOT get assistance from any human being!  If you have questions over the weekend, e-mail me at masondg@ilstu.edu.  This take home quiz is due at the start of your class period on Monday, November 10. Your grade will be lowered 5% for each day it is late.
