Scheduling Update:  We are in the middle of the 2016-17 Registration Process.  Recommendations for next year's math class will be made as follows:

- It is presumed that a large majority of students enrolled in Geometry have thorough understanding of the a majority of concepts typically taught in a complete Algebra I course.  As a result, I will sign-off at any time for students requesting to take Algebra I next year.

- A handful of students have the requisite background to be successful in Algebra 2 w/ Trig.  These students have been highly successful in Geometry thus far this year, earned a score greater than 32 on the ALEKS assessment administered in May of last year, and earned strong grades in an 8th grade math class that included an extensive number of concepts included in a traditional Algebra I course.

Students wishing to enroll in Algebra 2 / Trig need to schedule an individual appointment with Mr. Sondgeroth to review the above criteria and come to an agreement on their recommendation for next year.

- Per current procedures, sophomores are NOT allowed to enroll in Algebra 2.

- Two triangles are congruent iff each pr of corr < are congruent and each pr of corr sides are congruent. (This is the traditional DEFINITION of CONGRUENT TRIANGLES that appears in most text books.  It appears in Sec. 4.3 of our text.)

- Two triangles are congruent iff the triangles are similar AND the ratio of corr sides is 1:1.  (We created this "definition" based on our studies of similar triangles in Ch. 7.  We will explore this idea further in Sec. 4.5.)
